Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup homemade Nutella
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped hazelnuts
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350F 175C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper

In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt

In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy

Add the homemade Nutella, vanilla extract, and egg yolk to the butter mixture

Mix well

Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined

Fold in the chopped hazelnuts and dark chocolate chips

Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough and roll them into balls

Place them on the prepared baking sheet

Using a fork, gently flatten each cookie ball and create a crisscross pattern on top

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies are set and slightly firm around the edges

Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely

Once the cookies are completely cooled, you can drizzle some extra homemade Nutella on top for added flavor
