Firehouse Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta
Ingredients:
- 8 oz penne pasta
- 2 chicken breasts, thinly sliced
- 4 slices ham, chopped
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley, for garnish
Instructions:
Follow the directions on the package to cook the penne pasta until it is al dente
Remove the water and set it aside
Warm up the olive oil in a big pan over medium-high heat
It will take about 4 to 5 minutes per side for the chicken slices to get brown on both sides after you add them
Take the chicken out of the pan and set it aside
Over medium heat, melt the butter in the same pan
Add the chopped ham and minced garlic
Saut for two minutes, until the garlic smells good
Add the heavy cream and chicken broth and stir to mix
Bring to a low boil
Put in pepper, salt, Swiss cheese shreds, and Parmesan cheese grated
Mix the sauce and cheeses together until the sauce is smooth
Add the cooked chicken back to the pan and cover each piece with sauce
Let it cook for another two to three minutes
Toss the cooked penne pasta around in the skillet to make sure it gets covered in sauce all over
Add chopped parsley as a garnish before serving
Enjoy while hot
